I am Loralee
I have been a musician since I was very young. We always had a piano in my house and I took lessons starting at age 8. I also began playing the trombone in band at age 12 and studied it as my main focus all the way through college. I earned my bachelors degree in Music Performance at the University of Wyoming. As a music student, coursework included trombone pedagogy and private piano study. Even though trombone was my main focus, piano has been a useful learning tool and relaxation instrument for me throughout the course of my professional life.
In 2009 I won a spot in the US Navy Fleet Bands as a trombone instrumentalist. I spent the next 10 years touring all over the country and world as a professional musician performing in large classical ensembles, small chamber groups, rock bands, jazz bands, and marching bands. Upon moving to Rhode Island, I began teaching lessons to local students and started studying piano tuning and repair.
I received my formal Piano Technician training through the Piano Technician's Academy and through an apprenticeship with a local piano workshop. I am an active member of the Piano Technician's Guild and I am always learning and studying to hone my craft of piano service.
